A new school year has arrived and the Music Department is actively recruiting all interested 4th and 5th graders into our Elementary Band Program. This is a great opportunity for your child to learn how to play a musical instrument and become part of the “biggest team” in Barnegat.
All students will be attending a live demonstration of instruments offered in the program, on Thursday September 15th, 2016, at the Horbelt elementary school. During the demonstration, your child will have an opportunity to hear the various instruments, receive Rental/Purchase Agreement forms, and ask any questions they may have.
Students will receive a lesson on any concert band instrument during the school day. This lesson will not conflict with any core curriculum subjects. You may choose one of the following instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, and Snare Drum. Students will also perform at our annual Spring Band Concert on May 31st, 2017.
If your child will be participating in the Band program, please fill out the Music Lesson Registration Form that is attached to the rental form and return to your child’s school, as soon as possible, so we can begin instruction. Rental forms will be sent home with students after the demonstration. If you are interested in renting an instrument, please follow the steps below. If you need a rental form, please contact your music teacher, or for faster processing and delivery, complete the online form at www.nemc.com, or use the mobile optimized website.
Steps to filling out the NEMC Rental/Purchase Agreement form:
1. Select either a 5 month or 10 month special rental period for one of the above instruments.
2. Add and total the cost of the required lesson book to the cost of the rental instrument. (Damage Waiver, recommended)
3. Fill out the rental/purchase agreement form, and read the Terms And Conditions Of Rental on the back page.
4. Enclose check for the correct amount to avoid delays in processing. Credit cards are also accepted.
5. Send the payment and the rental form directly to NEMC, for faster processing and delivery, You may visit www.nemc.com for online rentals and additional information.
Instruments available through the NEMC rental program are of top quality and will last a very long time if properly maintained. NEMC also provides free pick-up and delivery of all instruments to your child’s school. Any band instrument sold at a department store, warehouse type store, or bargain internet site may be of poor quality and may malfunction in a short time. Low quality instruments will have a negative effect on the student and will inhibit the learning process. If you already own an instrument and will not need to rent one, please fill out the music lesson registration form and return to your child’s school so that he/she can begin instruction. Your child’s teacher can then check the instrument to ensure that it is in proper working condition; however, you will still need to obtain Essential Elements Book 1 (your instrument) Band Method.
Thank you for your interest in the Band Program
