Safety Patrol Criteria

In order to have an effective Safety Patrol, the students must abide by certain Safety Patrol guidelines.  Your child is expected to follow these rules:
  •  Demonstrates the character traits of Robert L. Horbelt School
    (RESPECT, KNOWLEDGE, PRIDE)
    ● In school consistently and arrives to school on time
    ● Dependable and honest
    ● Listens and follows directions
    ● Cooperates well with others
    ● Has maintained good grades
    ● Completes classroom/homework assignments
    ● Agrees to be an indoor and outdoor safety under all weather conditions (weather gear will be provided)
    ● Maintain sound attendance
    ● Protect the other students with respectful warnings (“Please do not run in the hallways, Thank You!”)
    ● No discipline referrals to the main office; upholds positive behavior
    ● Accepts and assumes responsibility
    ● Always wear the Safety Patrol belt while on duty
    ● Provided a written/typed essay with this application

Failure to follow these Safety Patrol guidelines will result in a warning letter, probationary period or membership termination for your child.

We will also be taking attendance with our safeties.  ALL safeties MUST check in with the attendance officer in the morning and afternoon.  Safeties who are consistently late will receive a warning letter.
